Manchester Chess Club v Liverpool Chess Club 2017!
Manchester Chess club celebrate the 200 year anniversary of the foundation of the club on 3rd September 2017. Unfortunately the club in this name no longer exists but the teams around Manchester are putting team together under this name for a special event on the anniversary where they will take on Liverpool Chess Club once again!
Liverpool and Manchester played each other every year for 100 years from around 1855 to 1955, Liverpool will be putting a team together for this event and travelling together from Liverpool Lime street by train to Manchester Oxford Road just like Amos Burn and co did for so many years.
25 v 25 players and a junior event 10 v 10. Invitations will soon be made to players to take part in this historical event which will hopefully once again become an annual event.
The event will take place at the Albert Square Chop House near Manchester Town Hall at noon until about 5pm on Sunday 3rd September 2017
